What does the role involve?

We need a solicitor to join our Norwich office.  Depending on experience, you will either support the partners and other members of the team, or you will work on your own matters, undertaking a broad mix of corporate work such as M&A, corporate finance, private equity joint ventures, fundraising, general shareholder agreements, capital markets, and general corporate advisory work.

You will be part of a growing team which advises a broad range of clients, ranging from new start-ups, through to substantial private companies and PLCs on a broad range of corporate issues and transactions.  A substantial amount of the team’s work is international.

What experience is required?

You will be an associate of up to 4 years qualified, ideally with experience gained in a City or large regional firm.  You will have a good background in transactional work and be able to demonstrate both working as part of a team on large transactions, and/or managing smaller transactions largely unaided.

  • Experience of running transactional work as the day to day fee earner on the deal

  • Good business development skills and evidence of an ability to generate opportunities and relationships.

Who will I be working with?

You will work with partners Craig Hodgson, Natalie Wade and James Hunter and 9 other corporate team members. and will also be part of the 6 cross office Corporate & Commercial NSL which is headed up by Kevin Lowe, who is based in the firm’s Birmingham office.

The team punches above its weight but even so, it has an exceptionally strong and growing profile and success is reflected by the increasing quality of its clients, which include the likes of Bupa, Archant, Randal & Quilter, Boparan Private Office, Lotus Cars, Adnams Plc as repeat corporate clients.

This post is also subject to a satisfactory response from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (to check for any previous criminal convictions) and, given the nature of the work-type, you may also be required to undergo national security vetting to SC level – the latter can be undertaken following commencement of employment.
