This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team as a Solicitor, focusing on Environmental Safety and Health work at with a top tier team in the North West.

The role

You would be working with two Band 1 ranked Environmental lawyers, focusing on a national client base providing both contentious and non-contentious advice in respect of environmental law. There is also an opportunity to undertake contentious health and safety and wider regulatory litigation.

This is likely to include:

Environment

  • Investigations and prosecutions by Environment Agency into breaches of legislation.
  • Litigation in respect of environmental contamination and nuisance.
  • Advice on a range of environmental issues arising to a range of commercial and institution clients including waste management businesses.
  • Transactional support to the Corporate teams on environmental due diligence

Health and Safety

  • Police investigations and prosecutions relating to deaths in the workplace
  • Investigations by the HSE into accidents in the workplace (often insurance funded)
  • Inquests
  • Advice on a range of health and safety issues arising in the workplace to a range of commercial and institution clients.
  • Transactional support to the Corporate teams on health and safety due diligence

Wider regulatory matters

  • Ad-hoc advice on a range of related regulatory matters such as Governance; Professional regulation and bribery & Corruption.

The person

You will be 3+ PQE  solicitor with experience of dispute resolution gained in private practice.  Existing criminal litigation experience is desirable.
