The role

Due to growth, we are recruiting for two Recruitment Advisors on a permanent basis, one role will be responsible for experienced hire lawyer recruitment and the other will recruit for our business services and executive support service roles.  Reporting to the Senior Recruitment Manager, and working closely with the rest of the recruitment team, this role will be supported by the firm’s Recruitment Administrator.  Taking on a full caseload of their own, the role will work closely with internal clients, external agents and candidates.  The firm is extending their LinkedIn presence and the role will additionally work within this platform, when appropriate, to source direct hire candidates.

The person

Given the challenges of this role, it is likely that your background and experience will include experience of:

  • managing the full end to end recruitment process for senior professional hire roles (ideally in legal or professional services roles, but this is not essential)
  • working with demanding internal clients
  • delivering exceptional client service within tight timescales
  • working with preferred supplier agencies to build high quality business partner relationships that deliver exceptional candidates for the business
  • using LinkedIn as a tool to identify direct hire candidates and managing the direct contact with them to successfully secure them as employees.

The activities - experienced hire recruitment

Working closely with the Senior Recruitment Manager, agree and take responsibility for your own caseload of lawyer vacancies that will extend across various offices, role types and national service lines.  Once approved, you will business partner with the relevant Partners both in early discussions and through the process to advise on the recruitment campaign, suggest innovative approaches to the hiring process that may challenge Partner perceptions and all subsequent steps through to offer.

As would be usual in this type of role, typical activities through the campaigns will include, ensuring job descriptions and person specifications are accurate and up-to-date, advertising vacancies both internally and externally, using direct recruitment methodologies (in particular LinkedIn) and liaising with preferred agencies. You will also support with the short listing of CVs, arranging interviews or coordinating these for the Recruitment Administrator to organise, managing interview tests, interviewing (where necessary) and provide feedback.

The activities - graduate recruitment

Whilst the focus of this role is experienced hire recruitment, there may be times during the year where the graduate cycle is particularly busy and help is required. This could include supporting  marketing and attraction activities to include the annual graduate law fairs (that normally take place between September and December) and assisting with the Summer vacation placement scheme (normally January to July). This is held in our Birmingham, Cambridge, Leeds, Manchester and Norwich offices and will potentially include shortlisting of applications, helping with the selection assessment process and the management of the Summer scheme.

Disclosure and barring service check

This post is also subject to a satisfactory response from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
