Senior Business Development Manager

The Role

An exciting opportunity to join Mills & Reeve as a Senior Business Development Manager. This is a full-time role which can be based in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Cambridge, Norwich or Oxford, but will involve travel across all our offices as the role requires.

The role involves senior BD and marketing support for the Insurance group, which represents one of the firm’s core industry groups. You will play a crucial role in the sector’s strategic business planning including the identification of BD opportunities and pipeline management. You should also be confident in networking in the sector and experienced at following up with and introducing potential new client opportunities. A key part of the role will require you to coach and provide high quality and effective business development advice for partners and lawyers across the business. You will take ownership of all projects and initiatives, ensuring they are executed successfully.  In addition, the role involves management and development of a number of BD team members based across multiple offices. This includes leading, coaching and motivating the team to provide the highest levels of service provision.

Tasks include

*         Supporting the Head of BD on the strategic development and implementation of the firm’s BD campaigns, processes and strategies in line with the firm’s 2025 business plan and objectives.

*         Management and development of a number of BD team members based across multiple offices.

*         Undertaking a leading role in BD skills and expertise development in the lawyer and partner group including BD best practice

*         Being client and target client facing – actively networking, introducing and following up on new opportunities, engaging with key referrers of work

*         Driving and supporting the implementation of key BD data and digital projects
