What does the role involve?

We are looking for a commercial lawyer with an interest in major projects work to be based in our Leeds office. You will undertake a wide range of commercial and technology law work with a particular emphasis on the education, technology and government sectors.

Work will include advising a range of clients including universities, central government departments and leading corporate clients, on sourcing projects, joint ventures and a range of IT and commercial arrangements.

Who would I be working with?

Our national commercial and technology team. You will work closely with  Martin Priestley in the Leeds office, as well as having the opportunity to work with commercial partners and lawyers across our national practice.

What experience is required?

You should have at least 4+ years post qualification experience in commercial and IT law and be enthusiastic, ambitious and keen to work as part of our growing team. You will have good technical and interpersonal skills and be pragmatic in your approach to delivering legal advice to clients.

What skills and attributes would I need?

You will possess good academics and have excellent attention to detail, drafting and negotiating skills.  You will have good organisational skills to manage clients‘ needs and timelines, with a pro-active approach to work.  You should be willing to learn and develop, demonstrate enthusiasm for becoming involved in business development initiatives, and show a good team-working approach whilst possessing a keen sense of humour.
