Our construction team works across a range of sectors and we act for a number of high profile clients.  If you would like to join our disputes team, you will be working alongside a number of ranked construction disputes lawyers on various complex claims and we will give you the support you need to grow and develop your practice.  If you prefer transactional work, our construction transaction team includes a number of senior and junior lawyers across England and we work on many stand out projects across the UK.   This is a fantastic opportunity not only to be part of a great firm, but also to be part of a great team, particularly following our appointment to the Legal Panel Service.

The Team

You will enjoy working as part of a great team with excellent support from our executive assistants and regular training and updates from our construction team in-house senior legal advisor, Alison Garrett.  You will also play a role in our business development activities to include helping with our construction blog, training seminars, both in person and on-line,  and thought leadership reports .  As a team, and a firm, we pride ourselves on outstanding client service and the delivery of commercial and cost effective advice.  You will play a key role in this, including scoping and agreeing the cost of any matter and ensuring it is delivered on time and on budget.

Experience required

We are looking for talented construction lawyers at all levels to work. If you are applying for a more senior role you will be given the autonomy to lead on client work and supervise junior members of the team. If you are applying for one of the more junior roles, we will provide support and development opportunities so you can build on your experience.

Skills and attributes needed 

You will

  • be an ambitious lawyer who excels at construction law
  • enjoy working on complex disputes or large-scale construction projects (depending on which role you are applying for)
  • be able to build relationships with existing clients and potential clients
  • have excellent team skills, including the ability to work with others.
  • be enthusiastic and hard working, be pro-active and flexible in your approach to work

Pre-employment screening

This post is also subject to a satisfactory response from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (to check for any previous criminal convictions) and, given the nature of the work-type, you may also be required to undergo national security vetting to SC level – the latter can be undertaken following commencement of employment.
