Our busy corporate and M&A team is ranked in the Top 10 in the UK for number of deals (Experian). We work across a range of sectors and act for clients from early stage start-ups through to substantial private companies and PLCs, nationally and internationally. If you are interested in joining our corporate and M&A team, then we are interested in hearing from you. We are considering speculative applications from candidates across all of our office locations, giving you the opportunity to work alongside leading lawyers and to get close, hands-on experience with clients on a variety of complex transactions. In turn, we can offer the support you need in order to continue to grow and develop your career.
If you are thinking about changing roles in 2022 and would like to explore your options, then please email email@example.com who can answer any questions you may have.
Our corporate and M&A team is part of our wider Corporate and Commercial Group. James Hunter oversees the corporate team, and Kevin Lowe is Leader of the wider Group.
You will enjoy working as part of a great team and have access to regular training and technical updates from our dedicated corporate PSL. As a team, and a firm, we pride ourselves on outstanding client service and the delivery of commercial and cost-effective advice.
We are looking for talented corporate and M&A lawyers at Associate and Senior Associate level, likely between 1 – 5 PQE. If you are applying for a more senior role you will be given the autonomy to lead on client work and supervise junior members of the team. If you are applying for one of the more junior roles, we will provide support and development opportunities so that you can continue to build on your experience
Skills and attributes needed
- be an ambitious lawyer who excels in corporate and M&A law
- enjoy working on complex transactions with clients across a range of diverse sectors
- be able to build relationships with existing and potential clients
- have excellent team skills, including the ability to work with others
- be enthusiastic and hard-working, be pro-active and flexible in your approach to work
Please note that, in the event that we make an offer of employment, we will conduct pre-employment screening that includes checks relating to your professional and academic qualifications, references from previous employers, your eligibility to work in the UK and any disciplinary history recorded with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). You will also be required to complete a self-declaration to assess your character and suitability.
Disclosure and barring service check and security clearance
This post is also subject to a satisfactory response from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) (to check for any previous criminal convictions) and, given the nature of the work-type, you may also be required to undergo national security vetting to SC level – the latter can be undertaken following commencement of employment.
