A full time, permanent role, based in any of our regional offices

The role

You will be responsible for assisting with winning work for the firm alongside the Business Development function across the firm.  You will deliver high quality work, develop a good knowledge of the firm and your department and  build productive relationships with key colleagues.

The activities

Working with the firm wide BD team to implement marketing and business development projects and initiatives to win new business including:

  • Producing fliers, proposals and other marketing documents to support new business growth e.g. preparation of UK/international pitches, credential statements, presentations and other marketing materials
  • Running systems and processes to support BD and knowledge sharing e.g. maintaining deals sheets, logging and monitoring work referrals on InterAction database, case studies and pitching materials etc.
  • Managing budget and financial management systems such as Purchase Orders
  • Booking events, meetings and other marketing activities for lawyers across the firm
  • Maintaining records/databases – including some data analysis
  • Research on target clients and markets
  • Supporting directory submissions
  • Supporting business development team on ad hoc business development projects and research
  • Provide support events and representing M&R on an ad hoc basis
  • Mentoring and training other BD Assistants
  • Deliver more substantial and complex assistant level work
  • Support a market/sector/NSL and attend their BD meetings
  • Contribute to the performance of the BD Team and the efficient delivery of the department’s work
  • Contribute to and support innovation by sharing ideas and testing new concepts and approaches

The person

Given the challenges of this role, it is likely that your background and experience will show:

  • 6+ GCSEs A-C (or equivalent) including English and Maths
  • Fluency with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to use Excel to store, sort and analyse data
  • Ability to keep track of multiple tasks and deadlines, and keep tracking systems up-to-date
  • Ability to understand the needs of the internal client.

The role additionally requires someone who:

  • Has  previous experience in a professional services marketing role or similar
  • Marketing qualification highly desirable
