What does the role involve?

We are looking for an experienced corporate solicitor to join our Leeds office. Depending on experience, you will either support the partners and other members of the team, or you will work on your own matters, undertaking a broad mix of corporate work such as:

  • M&A
  • corporate finance
  • private equity joint ventures
  • fundraising
  • general shareholder agreements
  • capital markets
  • general corporate advisory work

You will be part of a growing team which advises a broad range of clients, ranging from new start-ups, through to substantial private companies and PLCs, on a broad range of corporate issues and transactions, including:

  • IPOs
  • MBOs
  • fundraisings
  • joint ventures
  • private equity and venture capital investments
  • acquisitions and disposals

What experience is required?

You will be an associate of 2+ years' qualified with experience gained in a City or large regional firm. You will have a good background in transactional work and be able to demonstrate both working as part of a team on large transactions, and/or managing smaller transactions largely unaided.

  • experience of running transactional work as the day to day fee earner on the deal

  • excellent drafting and verbal/written communication skills

  • good time and paper management

  • attention to detail

  • willingness to take initiative and to participate in marketing activities

  • good business development skills and evidence of an ability to generate opportunities and relationships.
