Birmingham or Manchester, full time, permanent role

The role

Reporting to the Senior Recruitment Manager and working closely with the recruitment team, you will form part of the wider HR team for the firm.  You will be responsible for providing recruitment administration support for Solicitor, Trainee Solicitor and Business Services recruitment, but there is also the opportunity to be involved in talent attraction based projects within this highly professional team.

Experienced hire recruitment & selection

Support the recruitment team with all administration aspects of lawyer and business services recruitment. This will include:

  • creating, reviewing and updating job descriptions, upon vacancies becoming approved

  • uploading vacancies onto the Applicant Tracking System and other relevant recruitment websites

  • setting up interviews and collating feedback and interview notes

  • creating the offer paperwork and associated administration

  • managing the team’s purchase orders / invoice arrangements

  • being the first point of contact for queries in the absence of members of the team

Graduate recruitment

At particular points in the year, assist the Graduate Recruitment Manger with the administration aspects of their role.  This will include:

  • supporting with the management of the annual law fairs

  • supporting during the shortlisting, setting up of assessment centres and offers for Summer Placements and Trainee Solicitor applications

  • supporting with the practical arrangements for the assessment days

  • supporting the Newly Qualified Solicitor application and offer process

  • creating the offer paperwork and associated administration for Trainee Solicitor appointments, including supporting with the creation of induction programmes

  • supporting with the administration required during the Trainee Solicitor seat move process at each point in the year

Supporting the firm’s talent acquisition strategy

In addition to administration for the specific role within the firm, this role will support wider projects and initiatives linked to the firm’s talent acquisition strategy that will include:

  • supporting social media initiatives

  • on an occasional basis, attending events such as law fairs and careers events

  • producing statistical data for reports

  • involvement with projects within the team

The person

This is a busy and challenging role and to be successful, you will have:

  • some administration experience, ideally within recruitment or financial services, but this is not essential.

  • strong attention to detail

  • excellent written, as well as verbal communication skills and so is able to demonstrate that they can convey complex matters in a way that different audiences can understand.

  • good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload

  • the ability to work as part of a team

In addition you will need to:

  • be willing to travel to the firm’s other offices on occasion;

  • be flexible and, on occasion, able to work longer hours as the role demands etc.
