What does the role involve?

We are looking for a Restructuring and Insolvency Solicitor to join partner, Neil Smyth, and Senior Associate, Morgan Bowen, in our London office.  You will undertake predominantly non contentious work linked into our corporate, finance and real estate teams across the country, amongst others, helping with advice to all stakeholders in distressed situations including lenders, investors, corporates, directors and individuals, in addition to acting for insolvency practitioners.

We are looking for someone who not only wants to develop their legal abilities and acumen in this field, but also wants to get into the market and help build the practice, dealing with top quality work under supervision. You will be part of the cross office Restructuring & Insolvency team within the Banking department.

What skills and attributes would I need?

  • Experience of running transactional and other work as the day-to-day fee earner
  • Technically strong
  • Evidence of understanding what is needed to help grow and develop a practice
  • Willingness to initiate and participate in marketing and business development activities
  • Excellent drafting and verbal/written communication skills and attention to detail
  • An ability to understand the environment that clients work in and to deliver “advice that advises”, both orally and in writing
  • An ability to assimilate a lot of information quickly and focus on the key issues
  • Good time and file management skills to enable you to juggle lots of different matters
  • Dedication to providing outstanding client service
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • An enthusiasm to work as part of a team in line with the firm’s values
