The person

This role requires someone who has experience of working in a high performing finance team and a proven track record of delivering excellent internal client service and providing day to day finance support. It is likely that your background and experience will include the following areas of expertise:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance reporting or analysis role, ideally in a law or other professional services firm
  • High level of numerical and computer literacy.  Excellent MS Excel modelling skills, with the desire to continually improve them
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Relevant degree

The activities

Responsible for supporting your key stakeholders

  • Working with relevant Commercial Managers, develop reports and templates to monitor and interrogate the different business unit’s activity and performance
  • Preparing draft business case numbers for review as required by Commercial Managers
  • Providing first drafts of financial analysis for regular reporting, to include annual Board reports for relevant business units, as well as ad hoc reporting and other analysis as required.
  • Interrogate and analyse large data sets, or the drive to develop these skills, with the ability to present concise, insightful reports in a simple and informative way to support decision makers
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, to include the Financial Controller, CFO, Commercial Managers, Head of Pricing, Finance Systems Manager and others within the business, with regards to their reporting needs, ensuring that items are completed to deadline and accurate
  • Develop a commercial mindset and ability to help stakeholders identify key trends and find simple but effective ways of reporting complex data sets
  • Using the system and tools that we have within the business, whilst fully embracing any developments, to identify business trends, gap analysis or other data requests

Other responsibilities

  • Ensure you develop a sound knowledge of key finance systems
  • Perform other work as necessary to assist in meeting firm objectives as delegated by the FC, Head of Pricing and CFO
