The role

We are looking for a Paralegal to join our Litigation Services Team.  This is an innovative and growing unit based in the Norwich office. It provides litigation support to the whole firm, on all contentious work and in some specialist areas. Team members are trained, supervised and supported by lawyers with a range of experience in disputes work. The role is full time and permanent.

What does the role involve?

The Litigation Services Team (LST) is a technically-able team with good experience of Relativity, Bundledocs and Nitro. It provides high-quality and efficient legal support, including in the following areas:

  • Litigation support, including disclosure and document production and e-disclosure; locating and instructing experts, mediators and counsel
  • Costs support, including preparation of statements of costs, precedent H budgets; costs assessment and negotiation
  • Document and information preparation, organisation and review –  preparation of chronologies and bundles; pagination and indexing of documents; review of documents for relevance to a particular matter and redaction of disclosable documents
  • Debt recovery and insolvency support, principally undefended
  • Data Subject Access Requests, including document review, redaction and extraction
  • Court of Protection applications
  • Internal secondments to disputes teams

The person

To be successful, you will probably hold a 2:1 Law Degree.  A different 2:1 degree will be considered if you also have the LPC. If you have significant, relevant previous litigation experience,  a degree may not be necessary provided this can be demonstrated. A 2:2 will be considered if it is in addition to good A Levels and relevant prior paralegal experience. You will also be familiar with MS Office, have a methodical approach to work, ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure, and good communication skills.
